ABOUT

Emily Evanstein, MA, is a doctoral student studying Special Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University, Santa Barbara, in the teacher credentialing program where she teaches special education courses for multiple subjects and dual credential candidates.

Prior to her doctoral studies, she taught special education at the elementary level in East San Jose and Santa Barbara, California. During her time in the classroom, she mentored other teachers in the areas of Positive Behavior Intervention, and Technology Integration. She was awarded Teacher of the Year at her school site in 2014.

Recently, Emily has become involved with the California Teacher Education Research and Improvement Network (CTERIN). She has worked with them for two summers as a Graduate Student Researcher, and was recently named one of the Network’s Educating Teacher Educators (ETE) fellows.
